BC Research is a leading innovation centre, specializing in the incubation and commercialization of emerging technologies. Services include experimental research, process development, pilot plant design, construction and operation, mechanical and material process engineering consulting, and laboratory analysis and testing. Their process engineering projects have included hydrogen research and production. BC Research has forged key alliances and partnerships with NORAM Engineering and Constructors Ltd., Axton Inc., Kemetco Research Inc. and Electrosynthesis.
Since 1975 C-CORE has provided research-based advisory services and technology solutions to mitigate operational risk and help clients improve safety, efficiency and cost-effectiveness in remote or challenging environments worldwide. We also address security, sustainability and safety issues for clients in the resource development, transportation and aerospace/defense sectors.
Our work involves: research, conservation, and management in terrestrial, freshwater, and marine environments; environmental planning; impact assessment, mitigation and environmental management planning and monitoring; habitat assessment, habitat compensation design and construction; fisheries stock assessment, resource management; project management; environmental permitting; expert advice and testimony; field studies and logistics; data processing and analysis; information synthesis; as well as reporting and publishing our work.

Cape Breton University’s Verschuren Centre for Sustainability in Energy and the Environment (VCSEE) is a commercially focused contractible research, development and demonstration service provider for clean tech solutions. The Centre was established in 2009 to find innovative and sustainable solutions to energy and environmental issues and is uniquely positioned to address these challenges.
