R.I.I. North America Inc. (RIINA) is an upstream oil company that owns the North American intellectual property rights for the patented STRIP (Solvent Thermal Resource Innovations Process) enhanced oil recovery (EOR) technology. STRIP is an enhanced heavy oil recovery process that cost–effectively introduces steam and carbon dioxide to the oil–bearing formation by generating steam in–situ within the reservoir via down–hole combustion of methane and oxygen in the presence of produced water. RIINA is currently participating in a Sustainable Development Technology Canada pilot project (Plains Core Area Edam Pilot Project) with Rock Energy Inc. to demonstrate the STRIP technology over a depleted heavy oil reservoir.

US Oil Sands Inc. (USO) is a resource development company that has developed proprietary technology to extract bitumen from surface–mineable oil sands in a cost–effective and environmentally manner. The company’s initial commercial demonstration project (PR Spring Project) is located in Utah’s Uinta Basin where USO has a 100% interest in bitumen leases covering 32,005 acres of land. Their extraction process utilizes a citrus based bio–solvent to efficiently extract bitumen from oil sands without the need for tailings ponds, requires approximately 50% less energy input than traditional oil sands projects, recycles 95% of the water used and employs best practice mining methods to simultaneously mine and reclaim the targeted area.
